Black Eyed Peas Tonight and How Posting Videos can Get You Banned from Clubs

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

A few things I forgot to mention in my last post. Last Friday, Real World Road Rules was at Johnny Utah’s and this upcoming Friday at Johnny Utah’s we will have a playboy playmate hosting the event. YEP it’s ON BOYS…

This coming Friday at Roam the woman who sings the song “ma lips like sugaaaa” will be there and yes, performing. That’s also ON!

Tuesday at Tenjune, Ed Westwick was having a blast and Leighton Meester actually performed some song. Random.

Monday and Tuesday I was two nights in a row at Marquee. It’s like my nightly intake keeps me healthy, you know?

Tuesday night isn’t that young of a crowd, more an older, chill group of people looking to have a good time and a get together with close friends. A lot of girls do not respond to my mass texts when I send it out for Marquee on Tuesdays, but it’s actually one of my favorite nights. The only people that end up coming are my close friends and we have a blast. Thank god I get paid a flat rate, right? If it was per head on Tuesday, I would be poor.

Wednesday Black Eyed Peas were at Kiss and Fly and Thursday (tonight) night rumor is they are going to Juliet.

A friend of mine was sadly banned from 1Oak for posting a video he took there of Arod and Derek J. So guys and gals, do not post this stuff to facebook and youtube unless you want to be banned. Just looking out for you, guys. Even I am at risk. Basically, 1Oak wants to protect their celebs, and they have every right. The same goes for Avenue. They dislike it when I write about them, even if it’s good news.

Now for the juicy info on La Pomme. Yesterday, Wednesday, Ron Browz came and performed a few songs. I was worried in the beginning since I was the first promoter there. However, Chris P and Chris S came through later and then to top it off Ellington/Jose/Isaiah came through with all the models. It was amazing. Not too packed with just enough space to move around, and the quality was definitely 1Oak quality. I highly advise you check it out because Wednesday night is apparently the model night.

Jeremiah and Ryan Leslie are also expected in the coming Wednesday parties. I will keep you all posted.

Monday Night Round Up, Lohan Visits Quo

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

So apologies for being MIA. Sometimes blogging has its downfalls. Not everyplace likes what you have to say about them which means I need to use some caution, unfortunately.

Monday night there was a huge event at M2. You can check my twitter.com/tnkg to see who was there. Alright, I’ll just tell you:

TPain Jim jones Juelz Santana Chris Brown Mario Trey songs, Rosci from 106 n park, Monica, Diddy, Jadakiss, Busts Rhymes, dj cassidy,dj Webster, Keri Hilson.

I was sad not to be there myself, but was busy partying at Johnny Utah’s. Guess who was there again? Mark Sanchez the quarterback for the Jets and Braylon Edwards. Apparently they dig this party enough to come two Mondays in a row. This coming Monday at Johnny Utah’s should also be good. We expect a lot of players due to it being the World Series.

mickey-rouke

Above is a photo of Mickey Rourke’s name engraved into a table at 1Oak. It’s the first table on the left as you enter. He’s always chilling there anytime he goes to Oak, and I’ve gotta assume it’s because he wants to grab the attention of the tall gorgeous women walking by him when they first enter. He’s famous, so I bet it works.

Friday night I heard Lindsay Lohan (follow her on twitter @lindsaylohan) stopped by Quo for a hot sec to view it. Then she quickly peaced out, so guess it wasn’t that good? I heard from a few people they love the new space, and so do I. The layout is pretty sick; basically two rooms for those of you unaware of the old Retox and Myst. The room closer to the entrance is Myst and it’s huge with a stage where people will be able to perform (The Box staff and team are involved at Quo, and this is where they will hop in to do their crazy burlesque dancing and maybe naked dancing also as they do at the Box….?). There is a huge dance floor, not Marquee huge but bigger than Tenjune’s. Then there is an upper level. The DJ booth is located on top of a stage behind the bar. And the back room which is basically the old Retox looks the same layout-wise, but everything is redone. I viewed the room the Wednesday before opening. Friday they apparently had the room totally clean.
People were texting me asking me if Greenhouse is closed or closing. These rumors are all false, my friends. They are fine. I’ll do my best to keep you in the loop.
Who wants Halloween tickets for The Park for 25$?

Have a great day.

Sunday Night Recap and Doing ‘The Jerk’

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

How would you feel if you walked outside of Greenhouse after getting a check and a reporter comes and starts asking you all these questions about clubs and racism?

Under Pressure?

Yep, that’s me.

I did my best to fend him off and be honest as possible, without saying anything that would raise controversy. Anyone interested can check out me on Channel 11 News here.

More importantly, at sick party happened at Johnny Utah’s Monday night. We brought on a new partner, Ahmad, and he did an amazing job. He got football players Braylon Edwards and  Mark Sanchez from the Jets to come through. It was really fun, yet no one was riding the bull, so I had to hop on in the hopes of starting a trend. It worked! From then on, the party was really happening.

At Greenhouse, a bachelorette party all the way from England rolled through. Very fun. Girls from Sweden and Russia chilled with us at the table. DJ Steve Powers or Brooklyn Dawn needs to DJ on Mondays and not these other lame DJs. Jennifer, that’s a shout out for you.

We left Greenhouse and headed to Butter to hang out with my buddy promoter friends Mike and Jeremy. Had fun at their table, then we rolled across to Avenue late night. Amazingly, they were still open and the party was happening. The club was still full with good-looking people and positive vibes. My friend Ryan promotes there, so I stayed at his table. Didn’t see any celebs, but were having a blast. We were doing the Jerk Dance can you do it? This video teaches you how.

Sunday night, I decided to take off, but ended up going out anyway to check out the Sunday 1Oak party. It was slow in the beginning like any night of a club, then picked up. Good promoters came through. Jacob, Pedro, Cody, Ronnie Z, Abdel and Chris P. Seemed like the usual 1Oak to me, unless I’m blind or something. Of course the snobs will say “OMG ONE OAK WAS SO BAD LAST NIGHT EWWW.” Maybe that’s because a performance by Chris Jones spoiled the night. Check out his weak display below.

Oh, and for Halloween! If you want tickets, I’m selling at The Park. It is located right next to Avenue on the corner of 17st and 10 ave. Kid Cudi was supposed to perform, I don’t think they’re paying for him to attend anymore because it’s too expensive and the tickets are already almost sold out! So who cares? Hit me up ASAP if you want tickets and I’ll get you names of DJs spinning tomorrow cool? Peace and love!

Hot DJs and Pink Elephant Cleans House

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

I’ll hit it off with Monday night. Went to Johnny Utah’s first and enjoyed the bull. The party is still slow - in progress of getting back where it used to be. With new guys like Everon and Eddy B bringing great energy, things are looking promising for Monday nights Johnny Utah’s, which used to be a sick pregame party. Matt A. was the main reason it used to be best - he brought in a higher end crew and keep great energy in the room. Now we are remaking this party. Let’s see how next Monday goes.

Greenhouse succcccckks when they play that rock crap music. It’s definitely difficult for a promoter when all his girls are saying they are going to leave because the music sucks. BUT as soon as DJ Steve Powers hopped on, he rocked the room and brought fantastic energy that saved the night. I highly recommend him as a DJ…and I don’t know any DJs. If you’re ever looking for a DJ contact him…he, like the rest of the world, is on facebook.

I left Greenhouse to go to this five year anniversary party at Pink Elephant. Talk about no parking. My friends and I had to walk eight blocks after parking real far away. Outside was totally empty, so we were in shock when we walked in and balloons hung from every part of the room over tall, European women and well-dressed men. Just to portray how many people were there and how much money Pink Elephant made that night - the owner Rocco Ancarola himself was pushed to the whackest table in the room (the one closest to the entrance staircase). Tiesto is a good DJ. I’d never heard him play before, but he has good mixes just like DJ Steve Powers. Can’t believe I just put them in the same category.

Tuesday, I spotted football player Warren Sapp at Greenhouse

Tuesday at Marquee was a popping good time. I headed to 1Oak afterwards. It was slower than usual. Binn was back at the door after “a 3 day vacation,” he jokingly told me. Genz, his brother and the doorman for The Box, was also there chilling out. Saudi Sheik or prince or whatever you call him was there spending money on bottles of crystal. I hit up Avenue right after and it was totally empty. TOTALLY.

Grand Opening of La Pomme Thursday - Friday: Johnny Utah’s & Citrine

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Johnny Utah’s & Citrine

I was one of three promoters at Thursday night’s Grand Opening of La Pomme, which wasn’t so grand from my point of view. From the look of the photos on Guest of a Guest, the pre-event seemed like it went really well. Probably less focus was placed on the actual night time party. My girls left early. Friday, however, a colleague of mine worked La Pomme and said it was a very good-looking crowd. Who knows; I have to take another look at this place. Boom Boom Room’s also a place I still have to visit.

La Pomme

Friday I was at Johnny Utah’s. This place isn’t your usual club party. It’s more for people who are into bars and don’t want to deal with door trouble or paying cover. It’s the in-between corporate or PR girl type of crowd looking to have a beer and a laugh instead of champagne (which we actually get at the promo tables…huh). Friday I myself was actually in awe. When the emcee came on and started hyping the crowd, the DJ hitting some hip hop music, the crowd went absolutely insane. The emcee had to fend off people fighting to ride the infamous Johnny Utah mechanical bull. That’s what you call a successful night. Now what needs to happen is to bring that same energy to Mondays at  Johnny Utah’s. Let’s see how it goes this Monday.

Right after Johnny Utah’s, I took my crew down to Citrine since the owner David R. had asked me to come check it out. He runs a corporation called the Impulse Group. They’re basically are similar to Strategic Group (Noah Tepperberg for Marquee and Avenue) but not as potent. Impulse has under its wing the nightclub Citrine, Puffy’s Tavern, and just recently Johnny Utah’s…that’s a little inside scoop for you non-clubbers. Citrine had a good-looking crowd. The doormen Spencer and Han are from the good ole’ ClimaxVIP.com (very good guys that are very serious about the nightlife business and to me, very trustworthy people). Citrine charges a cover now. That’s news to me ever, and I used to work there on Thursdays some time ago.

We stayed at Citrine only an hour and a half and then went to Simyone the new EMM group spot (Mark Birnbaum Eugene Remm-I think Simyone is the name of Eugene’s Grandfather, hence the new name of the club. Those two always have some interesting reason for naming their clubs.) Obviously, they moved Alex Julian from Tenjune and now have him running the door at the old Lotus (aka the new Simyone). A lot of hot girls and good-looking guys here, then also the average looking guys that are friends with the owners of course and spend a lot of money. All of the who’s who was there etc., the usual BS for a brand new club when opening. Ellington Keys (as I mentioned before) is the # 1 model promoter. I saw him at Simyone with all his models and his partner Isaih (not sure if that spelling is correct). These are the guys who have taken the crown of being able to bring out ONLY MODELS. The Tenjune staff came through late night to chill out at  their new home. Tyson Beckford told me he loves the spot, so I wanted to see how good it really was. Eugene Remm was spinning.

The lowdown on the Simyone layout: You walk down some stairs after getting past the doorman. There’s some winding until you reach a long room. At the end of the room, is a doorway which then forms a “T.” Walking through this second doorway you can look left and right and there is another room filled with…tables (of course). On the walls in this room are funny-enough photographs of X-Rays, and when the colorful lighting passes behind it you can actually see the X-Ray. Then, they vanish. The ceiling’s low with a lot of color, while at the same time floor is black and roof is black.

I will have more information on La Pomme for you. I think I might stay on this Thursday to try it out again. I personally hope it’s more full this Thursday, because the venue itself is phenomenal.
